How Do I Stop An Event in Mid-Switch?

Once an event has switched and I want to stop it before it's scheduled time, what do I need to do? I don't believe there is a "stop" key on the dashboard.

In fact, there is a Stop button on the dashboard, but it applies to playout events (playing a file from the hard drives), not switch events. If you have a playout event and switch event going at the same time, and press the Stop button on the dashboard, it is the playout event that stops.

To stop a switch event, go to the Programming tab (classic view), check the checkbox next to the switch event, and select "unschedule" from the actions at the top of the list. With a duration-based switch event, this will switch you back to the channel's homeport.

If the original switch event had no duration (it was a "take"), then just execute a second 0-duration switch back to what ports you want to be on.
